For several years now aqualeader has been a member of the Water Cooler Trade Association. These days this is known as The WHA – or The Water Dispenser & Hydration Association. We all see a constant stream of logos and accreditations for many industries that we interact with on a daily basis. But what does this particular accreditation mean for you as our customers?

The WHA’s mission statement is as follows: “To ensure the attainment of the highest standards of quality, safety, hygiene and ethical conduct in the water dispenser industry through unimpeachable products and services supplied by Members to their customers, in full recognition of the Industry’s environmental responsibilities, whilst promoting hydration benefits.”

The WHA is actually an amalgamation of the British Water Cooler Association – which we used to be members of, and the EDWCA – the European Drinking Water Cooler Association. The merger has been discussed since 2018 and officially launched in 2020, to ensure cohesion and a stronger voice for the industry as a whole.

Accreditation only lasts for 12 months. In order to continue to be a member, each company has to undertake a full mandatory compliance audit each year, undertaken by a 3rd party organisation. The WHA has close and ongoing relationships at national and local levels including FSA, DEFRA, Trading Standards and Environmental Health Departments.

So choosing a company like aqualeader – who is a fully accredited member – is highly recommended for you and your business. As members, we have to – as stated above – undergo a strict annual audit. We must also undertake and maintain training that is specific to the industry. We are also provided with a wealth of knowledge, support, updates, and recommendations regarding issues such as Covid, or water testing that we would not have easy access to if it was not for this membership.

Finally, it also allows us access to a wide range of manufacturers, distributors, engineers and other cooler companies that provide us with a strong, compliant and unified supply & logistics chain.
